The members of the Building/Health & Safety Sub Committee are responsible for the care and maintenance of the Club.  The Buildings Sub Committee is also responsible for major building projects at the Club but reports into the Management Committee on these matters. This committee meets 2 weeks before the Management Committee.  The members of the this sub committee are:

  • John Rea (not a committee member)
  • Ron Treslove
  • Gerald Carlier
  • Peter Earthey

The Entertainment Sub Committee is responsible for the running of the entertainment at the Club. Past experience has proved that one person should do the bookings and that person is Ron. Members must remember that we cater for a broad range of taste in music. If you don’t like an act it does not mean that other members don’t like it as well.  The members of this Sub Committee are:

  • Ron Treslove (Bookings)
  • Michael Stanton
  • Ann Wilkinson

The Finance Sub Committee deals with the finances of the Club and makes recommendations to the Management Committee on financial matters. This committee meet        2 weeks before the Management Committee

The members of the Finance Sub Committee are:

  •  Mr. John Rea – Secretary (not a committee member)
  • Mr. Raymond Harris
  • Mr. Kevin Russell
  • Mr. Michael Stanton

The members of the Management Committee are responsible for the running of the Club and meets monthly; usually the first Monday of the month.  The Committee also deals with disciplinary issues resulting from members behaviour in the club.  The members of the committee are:

Function / Conference Facilities:

On the ground floor, adjacent to the main lounge, this room is excellent for conference facilities, seminars, corporate events and product launches, small parties and wakes.

Function Hall

Members can hire the function hall with the following facilities:

  • Capacity to hold 110 people
  • Large dance floor
  • Raised stage for band / DJ
  • Fully fitted kitchen (additional cost applies)
  • Comfortable / modern seating
  • Self contained away from main hub of club activity

The hall is ideal for celebratory parties, wedding receptions and general family get-togethers

The function hall is now available to non-members as well as members.

Unfortunately we do not have disabled access to our function room.

No 18th Birthday Parties. Committee have the right to refuse applications.

The Club will now allow 21st Birthday Parties to be booked subject to conditions, please check with the Club when booking.

 

Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18.

To become a member, please follow these easy steps:-

  • Call the Royal British Legion on 0800 307 7773 They answer the phones up till 10pm and are very friendly. Alternatively…
  • Visit their website at www.britishlegion.org.uk/membership and fill in the form.
  • Once you receive your membership card, come into our branch to fill in a small form to become a member of our club (fee for club membership applies)
  • You will then be free to make use of the club’s facilities and avail yourself of the low bar prices
  • You will be entitled to attend with your spouse or partner
  • Guests can be signed in subject to Club Rules at a charge of £2 per guest
